THE CYCLE OF STUDIES
"The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge" (Proverbs 1:7)
The Seminary provides academic courses with elements that will encompass all the four important aspects of formation namely, human, spiritual, intellectual and pastoral, as required for Christian leadership in the Church.
The entire academic formation program of a seminarian is seven years. The types of courses are essentially grouped within three main cycles.
Initiation Year
The main focus of the studies is to give a panoramic overview of the Church's teachings complemented with other courses such as language, spirituality, human and growth development and communication skills.
Philosophy Cycle
Stretching over two years, the students will be given a strong foundation in Philosophy - understanding Man and the principles of living from philosophical standpoint. Elementary biblical exegesis of Sacred Scriptures is initiated at this level, including books from the Old and New Testament.
Theology Cycle
The four years cycle's course structure consist of the Sacred Scripture and other essential theological subjects such as Dogmatic Theology, Moral Theology, Sacraments, Spirituality and Pastoral Theology.
